Continuous Certification Subspecialty Quizzes

C-cert online quizzes are available in the spring of each year. Payment of the annual C-cert fee is required before diplomates are granted access to the C-cert quiz and quiz access will be emailed within five business days of payment. Sign in to make the online C-cert fee payment. 

Overview

  • Quizzes provide a knowledge assessment and learning experience of the subspecialty journal article reading list content that features the most recent advances in the subspecialty field
  • Online C-cert quizzes contain 25 multiple-choice questions
  • An email with quiz access information will be sent within five business days after payment of the annual C-cert fee(s)
  • Quizzes are available on the UCNS testing platform hosted by Yardstick Assessment Strategies
  • Each quiz must be completed in a single, time-limited, 100-minute session
  • Diplomates may refer to the journal articles as needed while completing a quiz
  • Incorrect answers will be identified upon submission of the quiz and correct rationale will be provided to bridge the knowledge gap
  • Diplomates have up to three attempts to pass the quiz with a minimum 80% pass rate
  • Upon passing the quiz, C-cert activities are eligible for up to a maximum of 11 AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)TM for 2021 and up to a maximum of 15 AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)TM for 2022
  • Diplomates certified with ABPN may earn up to 11 Self-Assessment credits for meeting 2021 C-cert requirements and up to 15 SA credits for 2022 C-cert requirements

2022 Quizzes

  • Login to diplomate online profile to pay 2022 C-cert administrative fee
  • Payment of the 2022 annual C-cert fee is required prior to receiving quiz access
  • An email with quiz access information will be sent within five business days after payment of the annual C-cert fee(s)
  • Deadline for completing C-cert requirements: December 1, 2022

2021 Quizzes

  • Diplomates who completed all 2020 and 2021 C-cert requirements have a certification status of “Certified-Meeting Requirements” during 2022
  • Diplomates who did not meet all 2021 C-cert requirements have a certification status of “Certified - Not Meeting Requirements” until outstanding requirements are met in 2022
    • Diplomates who paid the 2021 C-cert fee but did not pass their 2021 subspecialty C-cert quiz may sign into the testing platform to complete this requirement for a certification status update 
    • Diplomates who did not pay the 2021 C-cert fee should sign into the UCNS website and go to their diplomate profile to pay the outstanding fee. An email with instructions and quiz access will be sent within 5 days of payment
    • Diplomates who do not meet C-cert requirements for two consecutive years (2021 and 2022) will no longer be certified effective January 1, 2023, and will be required to take and pass their subspecialty certification examination to regain certification
