Continuous Certification Subspecialty Quizzes

C-cert online quizzes are available in the spring of each year. Payment of the annual C-cert fee is required before diplomates are granted access to the C-cert quiz. Sign in to make the online C-cert administrative fee payment. 

Overview

  • Quizzes provide a knowledge assessment and learning experience of the subspecialty journal article reading list content that features the most recent advances in the subspecialty field
  • Online C-cert quizzes contain 25 multiple-choice questions
  • Quiz access is available in the “Assessments” tab within each diplomate’s profile page following payment of the annual C-cert administrative fee
  • Each quiz must be completed in a single, time-limited, 100-minute session
  • Diplomates may refer to their subspecialty reading list journal articles as needed while completing a quiz
  • Incorrect answers will be identified upon submission of the quiz and correct rationale will be provided to bridge the knowledge gap
  • Diplomates have up to three attempts to pass the quiz with a minimum 80% pass rate
  • Upon passing the quiz, C-cert activities are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)TM
    • Diplomates must answer question 26 in the quiz to claim CME credit
  • Diplomates certified with ABPN may earn Self-Assessment credits for meeting C-cert requirements
  • Confirmation of CME credits earned will be emailed to diplomates within 24 hours of passing their C-cert quiz and are available in the diplomate's UCNS profile in Communications tab

C-cert Quiz Access

Following payment of the annual C-cert fee, diplomates can access their C-cert quiz by signing into their UCNS profile.

Quiz access instructions:
  1. When logged in at ucns.org, click "Hi, <Your Name> " towards the upper right-hand corner to be taken to your UCNS profile
  2. Click the Assessments tab located in the blue bar in the  middle of the page
  3. Click on the hyperlink below “My Assessments” to enter your Assessments page
  4. Scroll down on the Assessments page to locate your annual C-cert quiz
  5. Click on the “Write Assessment” button to begin your quiz

C-cert Completion Deadline

The deadline for completing C-cert activities for the current year, and any outstanding activities from the previous year, is December 31. Failure to complete all C-cert activities for two consecutive years will result in the loss of certification.
