UCNS 2020 Continuous Certification Deadlines Extended into December

12-9-2020 The United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS) is extending the deadlines to complete the 2020 Continuous Certification (C-cert) requirements. Due to the high volume of last-minute diplomate activity and inquiries, the deadline extensions will provide diplomates the additional time needed to meet the C-cert requirements and the staff the needed time to respond to the inquiries.

“The UCNS recognizes that due to COVID-19 and schedule stressors, many diplomates delayed their C-cert activities until near the deadline, which resulted in last-minute inquiries that exceeded the ability of the UCNS to respond to the high volume of emails and calls in a timely manner that could provide enough time for diplomates to complete their requirements by the initial November 30th deadline,” stated Todd Bulson, Senior Manager Certification. “Diplomates now have until December 15, 2020, to pay their C-cert fee and complete their attestation and will have until December 31, 2020, to pass the quiz in order to meet the 2020 C-cert requirements.”

All UCNS diplomates are being transitioned in 2020 to the new C-cert process for maintaining their subspecialty certification. To meet the 2020 C-cert requirements, all diplomates must have completed the one-time online attestation to meeting the transitional continuing medical education requirements, pay the 2020 C-cert fee of $175, read the list of ten journal articles selected by their subspecialty, and pass a 25-question online C-cert quiz. Diplomates can earn up to 11 AMA PRA Category 1 credits for completing the C-cert requirements and passing the quiz.
