Board Certification

Applicants must be a diplomate in good standing of a member board of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). 

All dates must be listed in the MM/DD/YYYY format. Please enter "01" if the exact day is not known.

If you have qualified for examination by these organizations but have not been certified, you may apply to sit for the Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry certification examination provided the following criterion has been satisfied:
  • A letter from the specialty board indicating that you are scheduled to take your primary specialty certification examination prior to the UCNS examination must be emailed to [email protected]. Information must be submitted no later than last day of the Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry application period.
  • You must sit for the ABPN, AOA, or RCPSC examination in the same year as the UCNS Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry certification examination.
  • A letter from the specialty board indicating that you have successfully passed the primary specialty certification examination must be emailed to [email protected]. Examination results will not be released until confirmation of successfully passing your ABPN, AOA, or RCPSC examination has been received.
