Candidate Notification and Scheduling

All UCNS certification examinations are proctored high-stakes examinations. Examinees have the option to take their examination at a testing center or online with virtual live proctoring. Scheduling instructions and links are included in the applicant notification email. During the scheduling period, examinees schedule their examination for an available time during the examination week.

Applicant Notification

Applicants are notified about their application determination by email approximately six weeks after the application deadline.
  • At the time of notification, approved applicants are provided with instructions to schedule their examination.
  • Applicants and examinees should keep their email and mailing address information updated in their UCNS profile to ensure delivery of notifications and examination results.

Testing Centers

At the time of scheduling, examinees will choose from an online list of centers in their geographic area and then select from available times at the testing center(s).

Virtual Live Proctoring

Examinees have the option of taking their examination at a location (home, work, etc.) that meets testing location guidelines.
  • For optimal technical support availability, it is recommended that examinees schedule their exam time during the hours of 8 am – 7 pm Eastern Time on examination dates.
  • Allow an additional one hour to the total testing time for the online proctoring connection, verification process, and the allotted break time.
