UCNS Comment Periods
When the UCNS Board of Directors proposes substantive changes in program accreditation criteria, program requirements, or to certification eligibility criteria, the UCNS distributes copies to the Parent Organizations and to the relevant subspecialty societies. The recipients may review and comment in writing within thirty days. The Board, at its discretion, may or may not amend the criteria based on these comments.
UCNS accreditation program requirements and certification eligibility requirements are comprised of two pieces:
- Common requirements that are required of all subspecialties to ensure consistency in basic standards for all subspecialties are denoted in bold type.
- Subspecialty-specific requirements drafted in coordination with each subspecialty are denoted in regular type.
Proposed changes are indicated in red track-change within each document. The portion available for comment is noted following the document title. If the comment period is for subspecialty-specific text only, comments regarding common requirement text will not be considered.
