Neuro-oncology Certification

Application

Practice track available for 2019 examination!

Initial examination date options: August 12 - 16, 2019

Application Information

  • Online applications available: October 1, 2018
  • Early application deadline: January 3, 2019
    • Initial Examination Fee: $1,700
    • Reexamination Fee: $1,020
  • Late application deadline: January 17, 2019 ($500 late fee applied)
    • Initial Examination Fee: $2,200
    • Reexamination Fee: $1,520
  • Request logon to begin application
  • Logon requests for access must be submitted by 4:00 PM Central Time on deadline dates for activation
  • All applications must be finalized by the posted deadlines

Template Letters

Use the following template letters in the initial certification application process. Specific letters required vary by pathway. Letters that are incomplete or do not follow the templates will not be accepted.

Reexamination

  • A new application must be completed and submitted with updated supporting documentation

Examination Information

  • Initial certification examination is scheduled for four hours and has 200 computer-based questions
  • Registration opens June 17, 2019, to select examination dates, time, and location through Pearson VUE
  • Results are mailed approximately 8-10 weeks after the examination, and results will not be provided via phone, fax, or email
  • Please notify UCNS immediately of any address changes
  • Examinations are offered every other year

Payment Options

  • Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express), check, or money order
  • Check and money order payments must be postmarked on or before the posted deadlines

Recertification

Recertification Examination: No examination offered in 2019. Per UCNS policy, diplomates due for recertification in 2019 will be granted an extension of their certification to the next examination date to avoid a lapse in certification.
