The next Headache Medicine Certification exam will be offered the week of October 11–15, 2010. The exam is scheduled for four hours and will have 200 multiple-choice questions that are computer-based.

The original practice track pathway of application was scheduled to close on the last day of the application cycle for the 2011 Headache Medicine examination. Since the Headache Medicine examination is not scheduled in 2011, the practice track pathway has been extended and will now close on the last day of the application cycle for the 2012 Headache Medicine examination.
